Supportive Boomer Mom has Millennial Daughter's Back and Pulls Beautifully-Petty Move During Daughter's Difficult Divorce

Oh divorce—it is difficult for everyone involved and becomes a pivotal part of one's life. Even if you're just the bestie of the sibling to one of the divorcees, you're still going to have to take a side. Unless it's one of those rare civil divorces that go down peacefully, but all too many of us are familiar with the nasty style of divorces… Unfortunately. If you have been through a divorce, then you get how hard it can be. It's ruthless. It becomes a point in your life that you start using as a timestamp like, "oh yeah, that was before the divorce." So when you're going through something this life changing, it's important to have all the support from your friends and family as you can. 

One millennial woman posted how her boomer mom had her back during her nasty divorce. She was completely devastated during the divorce and felt like she lost herself in her now ex. When it's this hard, sometimes even the little things can bring you to tears. So her supportive and petty queen mom decided to make a move that might have been small, but it was the world to this daughter going through a hard time. Her dad has called her mom by the same pet name for almost 45 years. However, this nickname happened to coincidentally be the last name of the daughter's now ex. During OP's marriage, it was cute that her parent's pet name and her new surname were the same. But now that she was going through this divorce, it was hard to hear. So without even asking, her mom threw her longtime nickname out the window, told her hubby to call her something new, and then when they encountered the now ex-husband of her beloved daughter, she made damn sure that he knew she changed that now-tainted name.
